Install and connect

Install Baseguard, sign in, and find your first machine in the console. Start with the device in front of you.

01 / INSTALL

Pick your platform.

Install the client using the instructions for your device.

02 / JOIN YOUR NETWORK

Sign in. Approve. You’re connected.

Open the desktop app and sign in. Using the terminal? Run:

2Approve in your browser

You can use a browser on another device.

3Return to your machine

When the prompt returns, you’re on the network.

03 / CHECK

Find your first node.

Look for your machine’s name and private address. A new network may have just one node. Install Baseguard on a second machine and join the same organization.

A few useful details

First-time login. If you are not logged in, baseguard connect starts the browser approval flow for you.

No browser on the machine? Open the printed link on another device. For unattended setup, use a node auth key in lesson 4.

Behind the scenes. The control plane registers the device, assigns its private address and shares peer information. Traffic uses encrypted peer connections or an encrypted relay when a direct route is unavailable.
